The origin
Why we started Prolific.
We started Prolific in 2017 because the work we cared about lives where engineering and design meet, and because the people we build it for deserve a team that stays after launch.
Our obsession with how something works is matched only by our obsession with how it feels to use. We sweat the load times and the line breaks, the database schema and the kerning, the edge case and the entrance animation.
It has to be engineered with rigor and designed with intent, because to the person on the other side of the screen, those were never two separate things. That’s the studio we built: the one that obsesses over both.
Before Prolific, I worked at Apple and spent years at an agency. Apple taught me that engineering and design are one discipline. My mentors at the agency taught me to create and, more importantly, to solve problems through design. Prolific is how I pass that on.
